We would rather tell you upfront what is refundable than argue about it later. The short version: our professional fee is refundable in proportion to work not yet done, and government fees are not refundable by us because they are not ours to return.
Before work begins
If you cancel before we have started drafting or filing, the professional fee paid is refunded in full within seven working days, less any payment gateway charge actually incurred.
After work has begun
If you cancel after drafting has started but before filing, we retain a proportionate amount for work completed and refund the balance. You will receive a written breakdown of what was done.
Once a filing has been submitted to an authority, the professional fee for that filing is not refundable, because the work has been performed.
Government fees
Government fees, stamp duty, notary and franking charges are paid directly to the authority or vendor concerned. Once paid they are not refundable to us, and therefore cannot be refunded to you, regardless of the outcome of the application.
If an application is rejected
We reply to clarification notices and refile at no additional professional fee where the rejection relates to something within our control. Government fees payable on a refiling are payable again, since the department does not carry them forward.
If a rejection arises from documents or information you supplied that turn out to be incorrect, refiling is quoted separately.
How to request a refund
Email us from the address associated with your engagement with your invoice number and the reason. We respond within three working days, and approved refunds reach the original payment method within seven to ten working days.
