Overview
Udyam registration is the government's official record of your business as a micro, small or medium enterprise. It is free, takes minutes, and gives you access to collateral-free loans under CGTMSE, interest subvention, priority in government tenders, and the 45-day payment protection under section 43B(h) of the Income Tax Act.
That last one matters more than most founders realise: buyers who do not pay a registered MSME within 45 days cannot claim the expense as a deduction, which makes large customers pay you noticeably faster.
